The New Frederick Visitor's Center

Just stopped in at the new Frederick Visitor's center, now located on East Street, near South. It's fabulous inside.. part museum..part tourism information. High ceilings exposed beams, beautiful light. The building is a late 1800's warehouse that has been beautifully renovated, including a realistic photo-mural of Cunningham Falls with a framed section showing a great video of moving water. The murals were designed by Jackson Brady.  I spoke to Becky Bickerton about the building and Tourism's offerings there. As you can see by the photos below, they've got information on just about everything happening in Frederick County. Robyn Hildebrand and Lori Paddy, both Visitor Center Managers were very informative and ready to answer any questions you may have. The center opened in April of this year and has had over 13,600 visitors since then! They may get up to 70 a day during the week and over 200 on Saturdays or Sundays. Don't miss it.You can visit their web site at:
