"Talk to the Mayor Tuesdays"
|
|
 Mayor McClement has set aside the 4th Tuesday of each month from 2-6 p.m. to meet informally with citizens to discuss topics or issues of their choice. The next "Talk with the Mayor Tuesday" will be held on November 25th.
The Mayor's office is located in City Hall at 101 North Court St. No appointment is necessary and citizens meet with the Mayor on a first come; first serve basis.

The City of Frederick Parking Department is pleased to announce FREE Holiday Parking in Downtown Frederick on the following days:
- Thanksgiving Day and Frosty Friday, November 27th and 28th, in City parking garages and at parking meters.
- Every Weekend (from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day) - Saturdays and Sundays from 8am Saturday to 6am Monday in all 5 City parking garages and at parking meters - normal rates apply after 6am on Mondays.

 Currently residents in The City of Frederick receive recycling collection through Frederick
County Solid Waste Management every two weeks. Some residents have
requested the collection schedule be increased to once a week. Following
a recent study, data showed there would have to be an increase in
recycling efforts on the part of residents in
order to justify a more frequent recycling collection. Below are some

City Tree Identification Course Update

 The City's tree identification course,
the first step in the homeowner tree inventory has concluded.
Participants learned to identify 48 trees. The data base will be

University of Maryland PALS Bus Tour
PALS Project Underway in City

 On Saturday September 27, 2014, about 60 students and faculty from the University of Maryland came to Frederick for a bus tour and walking tour of downtown Frederick. This tour gave the Partnership for Advance Learning in Sustainability (PALS) participants an overview of our community.
Students will be working on projects that range from Climate Change at the Watershed, Economics Benefits of Preservation, Jefferson Street Corridor Revitalization to developing better outreach to minority communities.
