Alert Frederick County notification system. Existing Alert Frederick

"Talk to the Mayor Tuesdays"

Mayor McClement has set aside the 4th Tuesday of each month from 2-6 p.m. to meet informally with citizens to discuss topics or issues of their choice.
The next Talk with the Mayor Tuesday will be June 23rd.
The
Mayor's office is located in City Hall at 101 North Court St. No
appointment is necessary and citizens meet with the Mayor on a first

The Department of Public Works has a variety of projects that are in full swing this summer!
City Watershed Area
Improvements to the City owned Watershed area around Fishing Creek
include video surveillance, new signage, routine trail maintenance and
litter patrol. Trail cutting activity or wood removal should be
reported to 301-600-2071 or 800-628-9944. See map of Watershed.
North Side Water Tower - The construction of
the water tower, located on the north side of Hayward Road at the
intersection of Amber Drive, will begin mid-summer 2015 and is slated to
be completed in early November 2016. This City project will also
include the construction of a water transmission main on Amber Drive
from Hayward Road south to Meadowgrove Lane/Valleyside Drive.

Historic Preservation Awards
2015 Winners

The following Historic Preservation Award winners were recognized for their exemplary work at the May 1 Public Meeting by Mayor Randy McClement.
Three projects were recognized in the category of "Bricks and Mortar Rehabilitation":
Jeffrey D. Hurwitz & Caroline Gessert - carriage house at 101 East Patrick Street.
Carolyn Greiner and Paul Wade for 24-26 South Court Street.
CAS Engineering for 10 South Bentz Street.
McCaskill Financial was granted the "Stewardship" award for 220 West Patrick Street.
The Schifferstadt Architectural Museum Heritage Garden was the winner in the category of "Community Leadership"
Brian Fisher
received the "Craftsmanship" award for demonstrating an understanding
of and effective professional practice in working with historic
buildings and sites.
McCaskill Financial and the Frederick Preservation Trust both received awards for their "This Place Matters" photographs.

goers will be able to stroll along Carroll Creek Linear Park and shop
for anything and everything local that Frederick and surrounding
communities have to offer. The markets will run from 12-5 pm and will feature various speakers and live local musical performances.

News from the Frederick Police Department

Seeds of Life Cafe, located at 629 North Market Street, will host the next " Coffee with a Cop" on June 6 from 8-10:00 AM. This free event is a great way to meet your City police officers.
FREE Child ID Kits
The
FPD is pleased to offer free child identification kits and DNA kits to
residents. Instructions are included with each kit which allow parents
to collect DNA sample and fingerprints. To pick up your free kit, stop
by the Frederick Police Department located at 100 West Patrick Street.
Free Bicycle Registration
- Registering your bike helps Police identify and return bicycles to
their rightful owners. Please join with FPD by registering your bike.
It's free and helps both you and the community.
Youth Police Academy
This free program gives youth ages 7-12 and ages 13+ an
