7th Annual Halloween in Baker Park

 Each year brings new twists and turns throughout the evening in haunted Baker Park.
"Trunk or Treat" is back by popular demand so bring your empty treat bag or pumpkin.
- Tours - 6:30 PM and run every 10 minutes- each tour last about 55 minutes
- Last tour begins at 8:40 PM
- Rain Date - Thursday, October 26th

2015 Annual Leaf Collection Campaign
October 26 through December 18

 The City will begin the annual Leaf Collection Campaign on Monday, October 26th and run through Friday, December 18th. Leaves will be collected in ALL areas at least 4 times. City residents may begin to set out leaves for collection on Sunday, October 25th. Talk to the Mayor Tuesday

Mayor McClement sets aside time each month to meet informally with citizens to discuss topics or issues of their choice. The October Talk to the Mayor will be held on the 4th Tuesday, October 27th from 2-6 p.m.
The
Mayor's office is located in City Hall at 101 North Court St. No
appointment is necessary and citizens meet with the Mayor on a first

The last Carroll Creek Farmers' Market of this season is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd, 12 - 5 p.m. The theme is "Festival and Celebrating Autumn". For a list of participating vendors, click here.
The Farmers' Market coincides with Downtown Frederick Partnership's First Saturday event "The Harvest". Free hayrides throughout downtown.
The Frederick City Market, Downtown Frederick's Farmers' Market is open for business every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. through October 25th. Location - North Market Street between 3rd and 4th Streets (old Carmack Jay parking lot)

City Receives Prestigious Award
Gold Leaf Award

The City of Frederick has been awarded the prestigious International Society of Arboriculture Gold Leaf Award.
This award, based on the current planting of 50+ acres of streambank
plantings in the City, met the "outstanding landscape beautification
activity" qualification.
The Gold Leaf Award provides an opportunity for the ISA chapters to
recognize individuals, organizations and communities at the local and
regional level for either outstanding Arbor Day activities or for
outstanding landscape beautification activities.

opening of the East/West Fountain took place on September 17th. With 2
new fountains on Carrol Creek and more to come, there is so much more to
look forward too.

COMMUNITY CRIME NOTIFICATION
for ALL AREAS of the CITY
There
has been an increase in thefts from vehicles in the City. The suspects
are gaining access to primarily unsecured vehicles stealing valuables.
Following the tips listed below can help prevent you from becoming a
victim and also assist the Frederick Police in catching the suspects.
Prevention Tips:
- Lock your car doors
- Report any activity you think is suspicious to 301-600-2101
- Remove all valuables and/or keep them out of sight
- Park your vehicle in a well lit area if possible
- Install an alarm system and use it

NAC is a forum for residents to become involved in identifying and
recommending changes to improve your neighborhood. Each NAC meets to
discuss issues, concerns, and neighborhood projects.

TransIT Services of Frederick County expanded service on its East
Frederick Shuttle (formerly East County Shuttle) from two to five days
per week. The expanded route now serves FCC Monroe Center, MVA and
Frederick Municipal Airport in addition to Spring Ridge Senior
