"My Water Pledge" Take the Pledge and enter to win a Toyota Prius v and other prizes April 1 - 30
|
|
Sponsored by Wyland Foundation, "My Water Pledge" is a
friendly competition between cities across the U.S. to see who
can be the most "water-wise." Mayors and civic leaders
nationwide will challenge their residents to conserve water energy and other natural resources on behalf of their city.
Mayor McClement said, "I encourage residents to take the pledge at mywaterpledge.com
beginning April 1st through 30th. It is an opportunity to learn new
ideas and approaches to conserving water and cutting pollution. It's
free, fun and you may even win a prize!"

Follow the Culler Lake "Renaissance"
Draining of Culler Lake Completed
|
|
The
continuous pumping of Culler Lake has officially begun and wildlife has
been removed/relocated. The silt and sediment build up is now easily
seen, along with some newspaper boxes and other interesting "artifacts"
of Frederick!
The exportation of the silt began on March the 23rd
and has proceeded with little to no impact on the community. The once
feared pungent smell expected to be released after the water was removed
has not been as problematic as possibly anticipated.
Work
will remain the same for at least the next month as the pumping and
exportation continues. The next phase of the project includes wet land
areas, a new fountain and boardwalks.
To follow the project, visit Culler Lake Renaissance
For more information, visit FAQs
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.
